Around the World Forever
Just a quick update and some photos.... Since leaving León, I have made homebase The Bearded Monkey Hostel in Granada. It's a really cool place with fantastic food, a bar, comfortable beds, and a great traveler vibe. I basically just do day trips and return to Granada each evening except for this past weekend's stint at the beach in San Juan del Sur; Nicaragua's sort of famous surfing spot. My strange attraction to volcanoes carries on and visits to Volcan Masaya and Mombacho are now checked off the list as well as a trip to Laguna de Apoyo, a 250 meter deep crater lake.
This past weekend I went to San Juan del Sur, a hangout for backpackers, surfers, and wealthier Nicaraguans. A large group of us rented a boat and went for a cruise down the coast checking out sea turtles and swimming at an untouched, natural beach. For anyone with any doubt that Nicaragua can't be visited as a vacation paradise, you would be so sadly wrong. Add this country to your must visit list! Well, like I said ... this one needs to be quick.
