To get here, we had to take water taxis through narrow channels of mangroves. This is Guatemala's most popular beach but only really comes alive during the weekends. Unfortunately for me, some salad I ate with my lunch came back to haunt me all night Saturday. However, I didn't go down without a fight. I figured if I drank enough beer, I would get the bacteria in my stomach drunk, rendering them incapable of causing problems and I could carry on as normal. Thomas Stutzer stop by at the Hotel Cafe del Sol next time Good thing you came to Monterrico but should have stayed at the pretty Beach Hotel `Cafe del Sol`. The food is excellent and no problems with salad or fruit. Sunsets every evening at happy hour with a juicy cocktail on the beach terrace. In case you wanna come back or tell your friends about it, check it out: www.cafe-del-sol.com have a nice trip thomas59
