Hellooooooooo People!!
It's been a very long time that we haven't updated our blog but we are BACK ;-)))
The last 6 weeks were really intensive in Australia and we have made a lot of pictures to get you entertained!
Having spend 2 weeks with a Australian family has made us see how REAL Australian life looks like.. ( LAZYYYY ;-) )
On the pictures you can see 2 young boys which we have spend some time with!
The family have shown us a few things like Port Macquarie ( Koala Hospital and really nice beaches ), nearby forest with at least 20.000 bats who come out around 8pm and make incredible noise and they have shown us lots of wild life in the back garden ( which Maria loveddd hahahahahahah )
Then we moved onto to Queensland were we spent Christmas in Brisbane Marriott which was a delight! Pizza for Christmas dinner J because in Australia ALL restaurants were CLOSED..how weirddd!!
We then decided to go to Hervey Bay to spend our new years eve ON THE BEACH ( see pictures J)
From there it was really easy to go to Frasier Island ( biggest sand island in the world and unesco heritage) which was beautiful! 75km of sand and clear water..just amazing!!
By then the flooding JUST started in Queensland and we quickly made a decision to move to Sydney to spend our last week in Australia!
Originally we wanted to go North ( arlie beach and Whitsunday's island ) but the weather didn't allow us to..
Sydney was AWESOME! We stayed in the Courdyard Marriott which was 10000000 times better than the dirty hostel that we slept in Hervey Bay! Maja was a happy lady J
On the first day we participated the free guide walking tour around Sydney to get around! We found out that 22% of Australians nowadays STILL have convicts family (history of OZ: Australia was a place where England was sending convicts to basically built Sydney. Because of empty and hot land they couldn't escape, otherwise they would starve, drawn or just simply die without any food so that idea was pretty clever and have a look how Australia has developed since!)
We were fortunate enough to see the first night of Sydney festival and there were some interesting people J ( DJ's, elderly dancing on the streets and lots of youngsters 'rapping')
Jeff felt in love with making pictures of the Opera house and Sydney bridge (he made about 500 pictures of them!! J )
We have tasted nice wines in the Hunter Valley. After tasting 25 different ones we both felt tipsy and the back way home was not the best ride .. We now know that they have definitely good wines JJ
We spent Maja's birthday on the famous BONDI beach and in the evening we managed to be so lucky to see a performance in the OPERA HOUSE!!!! (How posh is that J)
That was our Australian Adventure!!! We wanted to spend some more time in OZ but because of the flooding disaster we decided to move onto New Zealand!
We have just arrived in Christchurch and so far seen only a few 'real' New Zealanders, the rest are all immigrants (mostly Asians with not good English haha)
We'll make our way to Fox Glacier tomorrow where we'll try to find some seasonal work!
We hope that you'll enjoy our pictures!!!!
