Bonjour!!!!
i hope this finds all of you well. I aarived safely in Paris on Monday to a nice boutigue hotel ( 7 rooms). By the way this may be a shorter entry because I am using a france keyboard and the place is quite expensive!
My first day in Paris was simply walking around and exploring the city. I was here in 1997 but it is certainly different this time. Incredible what some maturity AND sobriety can do for some people. I have enjoyed Paris MUCH more than I previoulsy did. it is quite expesive here so i have been eating alot of bread fro, local bakeries and it has been soooooooooooo good and fresh. I have tried to see as much as possible here.
walking down the Seine river is quite a scene. so much history here and so much to see. Most of the day tuesday was spent walking the street anticipating the Dave Matthezs concert. The show was general admission seating so i arrived at the venue at 3:30 (show started at 8:30). I am soooooooooooooooooooooo glad I made that decision. there were a few of us there when the tour bus pulled in and out popped Tim Reynolds ( i had NBO iea he was joining Dave on this tour) needless to say i anticipated the exit of DAVE. After 20 something shows i was hoping to actually meet him someday! We were all quite excited and we all got autographs. i did not have my camera aith me but some guys there are supposed to send some pics!! for those who know me well this was a moment of great excitement. in fact, i *may* have even urinated bit in excitement.... not much, just like when you get real excited????? I think I may be classified as a stalker soon.
the show is hard to describe. it was most definitely the most intimate venue i have ever experienced with a dave show, around 1200. the concert was a moviing experience and i sat in ,y 5th row seat full of gratitude for the things that have happened to me over the last several months and years.
needless to say, my wednesday of exploring paris was quite nice, especially after experiencing something like that. it was a nice spring day in paris, around 55 with a nice breeze. i walked an hour or so down the Seine to the TOWER. i did climb 660 steps to the 2nd floor and the views were quite stunning!
I leave for Brussels tomorrow morning and will be meeting an IU alum that i found through the GLBT alumni group. I see another Dave qnd Tim show on friday night and then leave for Barcelona on Saturday. This is going to be one FULL week of activities as I prepare to head bqck to indiana.
More from Brussels....................
