Over the summer, my grandparents, dad, brother, and I took a trip to Ely Minnesota, near the border of Canada. The drive took us roughly 14 hours and we arrived there around miday. We met with our guide who was going to lead us to our cabin deep in the Minnesota Wilderrness on Lark Lake. We began our adventure on Lake Ojibway. My dad and I were in a canoe and the others were in an motorized canoe. We set off and I struggled with directing our canoe. Wind and waves seemed to be working against us and trying to turn us every time I tried to pick a direction. We rowed and rowed around islands and peninsulas until we reached our first portage. We hauled our canoes over metal bars that allowed us to roll our canoe over land into the next lake, lake triangle. As soon as we stepped foot into the water, were attacked by what seemed to be million of crawfish. We got back into our canoe and went around the edge of the lake until we reached our trail head at the base of a very tall pine tree. We unloaded all of our gear and packed them into backpacks. I volunteered to carry two backpacks at once, which turned out to be a bad idea... We arrived at the cabin after passing the out house and the sonnet. Grandma was not too happy about this. I entered the cabin and saw that it had two rooms, downstairs and upstairs. The stair case folds down allowing you to reach the bedroom. Dad, Ben, and I slept upstairs and Grandma and grandpa slept downstairs. Lark Lake was beautiful and when everything was still, there was no sound. It was so quiet that your ears were searching for just the faintest sound. That night, we stayed at the cabin, played cards, and sat out on the dock smoking cigars while admiring the breathtaking scenery in front of us. The next morning we woke up, made breakfast, and decided that we wanted to go try and fish. We
