So I got a good sleep with a few interruptions, first i woke up at 2 AM, took me one hour to fall asleep. Then again at 5 AM since the rooster next door thought it was time to wake up the whole nabourhood.
But ye. I really got up around 9 AM and after a short breakfast I headed down to Nor-fil Adoption Foundation close by. Oh and, cannot remember if I posted it before. But I got another taxi driver who had no clue where he was going... typical.. But there I was standing at the Nor-fil Foundation and luckily, the "Executive director" had been there since I got adopted so she could tell me a lot of things on how the foundation had expanded in the Philippines. Sadly, they was not able to find my adoption papers while I was there, so they promised to contact me as soon as they got some more information. She also offered to see the hospital where I was born, to meet my foster parents, see where they used to live, though it would take her some time to arrange. So we arranged to give her a month to see if she could find my mother and make the connection, and make the arrangement to see my foster parents and the "sightseeing" at the hospital. In all she was very friendly, and kept on excusing that they could not find the adoption papers.
After the goodbye I went to one of the huge malls in Manila, called Trinoma, or something like that. I quickly found out I fit in perfectly among the philippino people.. everytime i walk into a new store, I was getting approached in tagalog, and every single time I had to explain I do not speak tagalog, and could you please repeat in english. Normally I would say I have a good sense of directions etc, but I must admit I got a bit lost in there, maybe its just the jetlag and the constant temparature above 30 decrease that plays with my senses. So after a bit of shopping I went up a terrace restaurant and got myself a nice meal. Since it is totaly non smoking everywhere I had to find a restaurent with an open terrace where I could actually smoke.
Feels like I can cut down to 3 smokes a day.. since the temparature is always so high, and the air is either moist or filled car exhaust, you rarely find yourself wanting to smoke.. so I guess that is a good thing. Now I am planning on take an hour or two siesta and then head for a more "tourist" populated area.
