Hey you guys!!!
I've finally managed to get enough time to visit an internet cafe in the town as we have been sooooo busy! I have only been here for a few days and can't believe how much we have fitted in already!
Ok, so I left Perth and flew to Alice Spring and I got a window seat on the plane so could look at the country from the air the whole flight which was really cool. I arrived at the Heavitree Gap Lodge and was amazed at its location as it was situated right amongst the mountains and it was beautiful. I checked into my room which i was sharing with 3 others and i saw some people in the pool so went to say hi. It was the rest of the Connections tour gang and i got chatting to Julie (from FB) straight away and they were sooo welcoming of me into the group it was really cool. There were 17 of us doing the tour with people from US, Italy, Germany, Canada and the UK. We went out for dinner that night and then had an ealry night because of our early starts planned for the next few days! Except i couldn't sleep! Firstly it was sooo hot that i put my matress on the floor to be closer to the air con but then i went to the loo at 2am and found a HUGE silhoutte of a MASSIVE spider in the bathroom and i really struggled to sleep after that because we couldn't get it out! Check out the pic i took the next morning! Waaaaaa!!!! We got up for brekkie at 6 and then headed off for our day trip which was to see a few cattle stations which had camels and wallabies and then we headed for Uluru (Ayers Rock).... It was AMAZING!!!! It's sooo beautiful - i've taken loads of pics which all look pretty much the same haha! We then headed to our cam site to set up our stuff and have lunch. In the afternoon we visited The Olgas which again were really fantastic as they are so huge and then we headed back to Uluru for some wine and nibbles whilst watching the sunset. It wasn't as spectacular as we had expected but it was really facinating to see it change colour and stuff! Also got some cool sunset pics with the Olgas at a distance too!! Woo! We then headed back to the campsite and had a bbq and chatted for ages. The tents were really nice but they were really hot so guess what????? We slept outside under the stars!!!!! It was beautiful!!!! (Proud of me Ann/Jess????)..... It was a very early start as we were watching sunrise the next morning so we got up for brekkie at 4:30 - waaa!!!
Gonna start a new blog so i can change my destination on the map thingy.......
