We made it to the Falls. It took some ´Challenge Anneka´ style holding up of the bus by Alex while I wheeled the two bags through Sao Paulo station, but we made it. We quickly took in the Brazilian panoramic views of the falls the afternoon we arrived then crossed the border for a couple of nights in Puerto Iguazzu on the Argentinian side. The Argentine side of the falls was spectacular. We did a trip which involved getting on a speedboat and going inside the falls via some tame rapids. I thought we would just graze past some of the piddly falls but the crazy driver took us right underneath a mammouth one which made me nearly wet myself and swallow half of the natural wonder! We did notice that the rest of the group were wearing swimmers but I thought they were just geeks. We dripped round the rest of the trails for a bit and then like an oasis in the desert we came across a Sheraton hotel complete with bar and sun terrace. As the coach wasn´t due to pick us and the keeno´s up till four we decided to kill a few hours here - the safest thing to do in 40 degrees heat I thought. We drunk, ate lunch, munched on two bowls of peanuts and had to pay an extortionate...... 7 pounds! I love Argentina!
The Argentine coach to BA was another overnight killer but with fully reclining seats, butler service, food and champagne served before sleep it didn{t seem all that bad. Once again - I love Argentina!
