Camp Walden, Denmark, Maine
So this is our first Post on our travelling blog, so exciting!
We had a really hectic day on Monday, we were up at 5:30am to leave for Heathrow airport at 6:30am, to catch our 7hr flight to Washington, then had to connect to another flight of 1 & a half hrs to Portland, Maine which is our final destination. Well, to start we had to run for our first plane; we were happily taking our time in duty free when Jake noticed it was 11:30am, and check in was at 11:15am for the flight at 12! Ive never run so fast in my life, and I realised I could run even faster when we also suddenly heard the last boarding call! The flight itself was fine, but i had no vegetarian option as they had all run out so mmmm salad and a roll it was, washed down with plenty of Bloody Mary's.
When we landed in Washington it took us ages to get thru customs before rushing to recheck our bags for the second flight, which we found out was delayed for 2 and a half hrs, and when we finally got on it we were told the aircon wouldnt work until the plane could actually start to take off so while waiting for it to be able to go to the runway cos we missed our origional flight slot, some idiot of a bloke got up and started yelling at the crew to let him off cos it was cruel to keep us all on in this heat! He was told very nicely by the cabin crew that if he got off it would delay the take off more for everyone else so he decided to shut up and sit down! When we eventually got to Portland and went to get our luggage, we were told that Jakes was still in Washington; so thats two years running he has had his bag go missing! Thank god there was no engagement ring in it like last time! And we dont even have it now, he has been trying to call the airport to find out where it is! So by the time we actually got to camp and to bed it worked out that we had been up for 24hrs straight!!
We only just manged to get the day off today so we are going to get some Chinese & see a film at the drive in!
Anyway, hope everyone is ok, and enjoy the photos!
