Wow! I'm not sure my words will do justice to the experience of being at a Fußball Game in Germany! So all I will do is write what I saw. It was amazing! We started our day by going to the Borussia fan shop and getting geared up for the game with t-shirts, scarves, and as you can see from the pic, nail decals!
We were privileged to be part of a tour of the stadium (arranged by a dear friend, Renate) and got to go into some very special parts of the stadium. We got to go onto the field and even sit where the players sit during the game!
The actual game itself was also amazing!
We had to sit in 2 spots as not all the tickets were together. So Beate, Mom and I went to meet up with a long-time friend of Beate's, Oliver. We all had a beer together and then the three of us made it to our seats.
The game began with 55 thousand people singing the Borussia team song. What a mighty sound that was!
We watched with anticipation through the first half with some very exciting plays. Mom and I made a quick dash to the bathroom and for some game grub.
The second half was great and with only the third minute into stoppage time (overtime) we won the game! The whole place went wild and burst into hugs and song!
My cousin Beate and I hugged each other and squeezed my Mom in the middle..it was hilarious.
What a crazy experience!
