February 2012
I have now been in Thailand for six months and am very thankful to God for the lessons and experiences he has given me.I want to thank you all for praying for me and reading my updates and taking this journey with me.I finished my DTS and learned so many things.God has grown me in many ways and is showing me everyday his faithfulness.
Since DTS has finished I have been very busy.My Dad and Grandpa came to visit. It was a very exhausti………. I mean blessed time. After that I jumped right into a new ministry.I am now living in a city called Ratchaburi. Here I have the chance to see first hand what living as a missionary looks like.I am working with an interracial family and have a unique opportunity to get mentored and learn how to do successful ministry.During my time here I will be: leading worship, working with Burmese refugee kids, teaching English, helping at a prison, showing my break-dancer friends God's love, and many other things. My favorite ministry here is with the break-dancers.I have developed a close relationship with them and pray that during my time here God will give me wisdom and opportunities to share the gospel.
I plan on staying here till the 1st of May.I am very exited to see what God is going to do through me and in me while I am here.Although being here has many perks it also presents challenges that I can use prayer for.For one I am the only Westerner here except for the missionary wife who is from South Africa. Not only that but I am working with two other Thai girls who don't speak English and the closest one to my age is 24.Finding someone to talk to casually or just vent to is almost impossible to find here. Also unlike Bangkok almost nobody here speaks English. So I have to learn more Thai in order to be more useful during ministry times.Being here is not going to be easy but I know that God directs my path and will guide me through this time.
Thank you all for keeping me in your prayers.
God Bless,
Taylor Moak
