Arrived in Koh Tao over a week ago nowGetting out of Bangkok was a bit of a challenge. We arrived at the place we had booked trip through at 6pm as required to catch bus. And after about half an hour of waiting there they put us in a taxi and told us we had to go to the main bus station. But we didn't go to bus station we went to another branch of TAT (Thailand's government owned tourist travel agency) and we waited there for about an hour, having been told bus was to pull in here. Then another couple showed up going to Koh Tao as well and they put as all back in a taxi and sent us to another branch of TAT. After another hour of waiting round there a bus finally did come and we were on our way.Arrived at ferry terminal at 6am and caught ferry to island at 7 arriving just before 9am. We already had accommodation booked for the first few nights so it was good not to have to worry about where we were going when we arrived.Now we've rented a room at a place called Pims guesthouse for 6000baht for the month which is nice and clean but we might look for somewhere else for next month as it doesn't have air con which makes it pretty hard to sleep.Also rented a scooter coz everyone on the island gets about on scooters or motorbikes. Might upgrade that for a motorbike when I get a job.Had two days freelancing for an advanced openwater course and another dive shop phoned with some discover scuba courses but was already doing advanced course. So started to make a bit of moneySeen a whale shark while diving the other day which was about 4 metres. Just a baby as far as whale sharks go though looked huge to me. Not all that common to see either so was pretty specialSira has started her divemaster with asia divers and is really enjoying it. I went out on there boat in the weekend for some free diving which was nice as well.Will write some more again soon.
