Hi guys!
Its 1/05/2011 here and its still the 30th at home haha!
We DID watch the wedding, it was VERY good and we both enjoyed it! So yes, I agree with you all it was amazing and beautiful :)
We couldnt watch it all though as next morning - Saturday 30th - we had to pick up our campervan at 10am! We asked the woman at reception of Kiwi house to call a taxi to the airport where we were picking the bus up from and she told us about a shuttle bus which costed under half the price of what a taxi was and was far cooler so the day started really well! We picked up the campervan from "Backpacker Campervans" and a nice lady helped us look at the snow chains and talked us through everything!
Beggining Driving! Adam began and we were both scared we were gunna stall - so far NEITHER of us have and we have driven for MILES so we are pleased! and we had to drive out of Christchurch and were headed for Lake Brunner. We drove along a highway and the views and scenery were incredible! We pulled over at a hugeeee beauitful lake and there was men in the water fishing and i wanted to join them!! Callum, Harry and Grandad Mick you would of been in HEAVEN! We also pulled over at this big old stone thing, there were huge rocks EVERWHEERREE all scattered and quite frankly it made Stone Henge look pathetic! I then took over the wheel and I shall let all of you who slate my driving know, I did fine :)
We got into the town we were looking for, Greymouth which was weird, it was just like Newquay, Brighton etc, a big seaside town so we stopped of at the beach then got fish and chips!! They were nice but I was annoyed you had to pay 50 cents for a tiny ketchup sachet and I only had 1 dollar so could only get one. We then drove up to Lake Brunner, it was quite late so it looked absoloutley amazing! We wanted to park next to it and camp up but we couldnt find anywhere where it didnt say "No Camping" and we were tired so we decided we would go up to the Camp park instead, it was 14 dollars each so about 7 pound which isnt bad but Adam and the woman did get on because she was really rude to him!
The sky looked awesome! Stars EVERYWHERE! Adam absoloutley loved it but I was in a paddy because I didnt like camping and it was dark, and I couldnt find my stuff, and I was being bitten (I have 16 bites JUST on my feet and I was wearing stuff!) and generally I wasnt in a good mood, but Adam was happy as a larry chilling watching the stars using his iphone adapter/app thing to look at what stars he could find!
This morning we woke up and went to the lake, it was about 7am and it looked, b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. We both agreed it made any early morning at M&S and Waitrose 1000000000% worth it! I never thought I would smile at being outside so early in the morning! It really was beautiful. We also saw a bird eating a fish! :)
(My facebook profile photo is at the lake this morning :) )
Then we drove up to a place called Franz Josef, it took about 3 hours and we shared the driving again. This afternoon we went to the hot pools! They were sooooooo cool! Swimming pools at the heat of 36, 38, 40 degrees and in the MIDDLE of the jungle!! I absoloutley loved it and spent most of my time in the 40 degrees but Adam liked the 36 one :)
They were reallllllllly cool though! Mummy, Rhia, Nanny J and Aunty Sam you would all of been in heaven like I felt I was! Super nice! We have now arrived at our camppark, Franz Josef - Top 10 and it really is top 10! It was 40 dollars for both of us so 20 each which is about 10 pounds and its lovely! Although there are bugs here too so probaly be bitten again! :(
Tommorow we are doing something called the Franz Josef Glacier tour, we are doing it for half a day and it starts at 12.30. You can wear shorts and stuff and do a hike in the snow so I think its gunna be a really good day!
We have loadssssss planned for this week in the campervan, are both really well and looking forward to it! We havent got lost, or come close to any accidents so dont worry about us! :) (mummy april in particular.......!!!)
Love you all! Take care. xxxxxxx
