Our last day of the trip. We rolled into Vegas in the afternoon, checked into our noisy hotel, the Strasiphere, and found our room in the overly large hotel. We were right next to the roof pool extrance, but it was closed due to weather. The kids were very dissappointed, and the TV had 35 useless channels, all mainly in Chineese. Thankfully we had the iPad and after an overly price internet fee, the kids had a little entertainment.
We tried to buy tram tickets to go to the central part of the strip, but we purchased bus tickets instead. Whoops! So we took the bus and found a place for dinner with crazy large portions of food. We took the bus back to our aging hotel, and since it was a double decker, we road on top and took in the views.
Since we were staying at the strat, we could go to the top for free, so we did. The kids enjoyed watching the bungiee jumpers and rides and walking around looking at the city, so all wasn't lost. The kids love hotels, but this one rated pretty low by there standards.
Driving back to Cali, it snowed once we made it over the pass, and it was so windy we nearly ran out of gas!
My advise, FILL UP IN NEVADA! Once you pass Wiskey Peats, the last casino before the boarder, it's a long way until you find a gas station, and when you do, it's going to be nearly a dollar more per gallon...
I'm just saying..
