Off to the jetty we went to enter the kids fishing competition for two hours. I managed to catch two fish at once in the first five minutes. The man from Recreational Fishing was so pleased to see my catch he took a photo to put on their website.There was one other fish about the size of the fish I caught so we have to wait until Friday until the winner is announced. Later in the day we did a treasure hunt on the beach.

Dolphins, turtles and big fish. The morning started off with a look at the dolphins near the beach. Fraser was lucky to be picked out of about 100 people to feed one of the Dolphins, We then went on a cruise to a pearl farm and learnt how they cultivate pearls. On the way back we saw turtles and dolphins. Fraser and Dad got in the boom net on the back of the boat and they had to hang on tight.

Arrived in Denham and setup with nice views of the ocean. School work to do then a nice relax.

We awoke to still more flies but got on and did some school work. In the afternoon we had a look at Hamelin Pool and the world heritage stromatolites (they look a bit like black cauliflower). We also had a look at the quarry where they have mined shell which they make into building blocks for many historic buildings including a house on the Homestead stay.

Hamelin we are headed today a reasonable drive north to a Homestead, The place we are staying at was originally a sheep farm and has shearing quarters. A great place to stay it’s much nicer than most caravan parks with nice toilets and showers and a communal camp kitchen. The best thing was that we got to light our first fire and toast marshmallows. The worst thing is the fly population has grown about 20 times what it was in Kalbarri.
