We trekked along the Gibb River through the King Leopold Ranges, then into Bell Gorge. We walked into a fantastic swimming hole and great waterfall. It was a little cool in the water but it was the best place we have swam in so far, much better than any of the swimming pools. We headed back to Windjana Gorge to find some friends we had met in Derby, that live near Port Fairy, setup near us at camp.

nto the gorge we headed and it was great to see our first crocidiles (fresh water) in nature. They were very relaxed warming themselevs on the banks and cooling in the water. We did not get to close but saw some people taking selfies with large crocs. We saw lots of new birds including an Azure Kingfisher, Striated Pardolotte, Rainbow Bee Eater and Yellow Honey Eater.
Tape up the van to stop the dust getting in and off we head along the Gibb River Road. The first part on a sealed road (little bit fancy) then turning off to head into Windjana National Park for three nights. You pick your piece of dirt/grass and try for some shade but the best thing is it has flush toilets, solar showers and fresh water.
