Our trip to the Iguaza falls was amazing. As we only had one day, managed to find a chap that said he could take us to both sides of the falls so set off early for Brazil ...only took 30 mins to cross the border and
they did not open til 9 so why so early no idea but at least we missed the
masses.? When we arrived it all seemed at bit "Disney", but I suppose they
have just got it all well organised and the falls certainly were not.? The
first views were breathtaking, the sounds, the power, the drama.? Out came
the camera of course but with every step it just got more spectacular.? I
know it sounds cheesy and I will bore you all with the photos but it was
that wonderful.? The size is just unbelievable.? We met a Canadian couple
and asked how they compared to Niagra, they don?t apparently so why In
England are these the ones that feature on travel programmes?!? Easier to
reach I suppose.?? There are also viewing platforms that go out into the
falls, well as far so it is safe and this was amazing, although we got
completely soaked, but did not matter in the least. And the rainbows, so
many.? Infact, one features on nearly every photo and they almost look
superimposed but I assure you they are not!? At one point on the other side
there were rainbows appearing at our feet almost and then vanishing again.
Over on the Argentine side you get up close and personal with the falls
which is great fun, and again spectacular.? They are so loud and strong.?The
other amazing thing about this side too were all the butterflies, they
rained like confetti.? All colours altthough was difficult to photo them in
the huge numbers.?
You can probably tell we loved the day.? We could have gone back everyday for a week and still not get bored but our time is limited.
The next part of out trip was not so good.? A 26 hour coach journey to
Salta, still Argentina.? After the last one we thought it would be luxury,
but not so!? Yes we had our cama bed, a chair that goes almost vertical but
that was it.? No champagne, the DVD?s could not be heard or the screen went
red or even worse films were in Spanish, yes I know where I am and the
promise of food was a big disappointment!? And the air con was on high so it
was bloody freezing.? Were entertained though by three lads from Israel who
were equally as pissed off so turned into a fun journey.? As we got closer to Salta it got more and more grey, and it was?that fine rain ...the kind that gets you soaked
through...? BUT arrived in Salta, wonderful sunshine and booked into a fine
place, and went and found a big steak!? We needed protein badly now we are
living as South Americans and had had only carbs for last 26 hours!? And a
beer of course!? Salta is very pretty and have already found another
necklace, in fact, achieved that within 5 mins of leaving hotel so very proud!? Off to find some live music tonight and have a few well earned drinks!
Must go now as yet again I have locked Janine in the room, just to be safe!
Love, peace and BIG steaks
