The Meat Locker equals rad! An eency white coral island with a smokin' right hander wrapping around one side.
After a brief stint on the island to suffice both my craving for land and curiosity about who the two bods perched there were (photographers from California) I grabbed my board and went for a quick sunset surf. Absolutely insane scenery. Rode a couple of goodies before it was too dark to see. Our remaining few squeezed tightly into the blue tender for a cosy, smiley, lamp lit putt back to the Addiction to be greeted with freshly caught sashimi. Oh yeah. Melt in your mouth. Backed up by killer home made lasagne. The food has been ridiculous. Tony, our chef, is the man.
Woke this morning after a night rocking and rolling and a bunch of toilet trips, to the waves on the rise. The boys got a few bombs, Sime took off on a monster and I was pretty stoked with my four given the size.
Tim endured the first real injury of the trip requiring Dickinson to break out the stitches and sew up a deep cut in his leg. Eeew! Tim was such a tough cookie. There would have been tears if it were me. And as if there were any seed of a question about whether I could skipper a surf boat, that has been answered unequivocally. I was fair and square back to the operating table while the boys watched on and took happy snaps. Boys hey!
We're now back at Mutz with three other boats. The wave looks completely different with this swell on it. Christian just got shacked all down the line. Cheers of stoke rang from all of the boats. Possibly too quick and hollow for me. Tipping I'll be taking photographs and reading a lot over the next day or so while the swell is forecast to jack up. Loving my trio of cameras. Excessive yet fun! Dying to see how the new Fuji Mirrorless shots look on computer screen.
