Left Quebec this morning and are now at Magog. our last stop in Canada.
Enjoyed Quebec, visited Parlaiment yesterday (shown in photo) and have walked miles. A hilly city with a lot of steps, so good exercise. Some very beautiful buidings and a very busy port for cruise ships. The population of tourists when three ships leave, falls dramatically so it was much quieter yesterday. Two more ships came in this morning as we were getting up.
It is, as expected very French and we in many ways, felt quite at home. However, in bars and restaurants we found staff quite cool and not particularly helpful. Maybe it is the end of the season or the transient nature of their clients. We are still amazed how many French Canadians do not speak English fluently when Quebec is only one province and Canada is an English speaking nation. Maybe we just don't understand.
Magog is near Mount Orford, a National Park area, so predominantly woods and lakes. It is part of the Eastern Townships - noted for it's beauty and lovely villages so with the weather set to be good and it being Thanksgiving weekend, therre should be a lot going on and plenty to see.
New photos won't load so will try again tomorrow!
