From Boston to here via Plymouth and the Mayflower 2. She is so small, glad we didn't cross the Atlantic in her. Good to go round the ship though. Internet is meant to be wireless but we have had problems until tonight but at last we can sort out the blog properly. Got to Falmouth on Sunday afternoon and watched the ferries come in from Martha's Vineyard.
No wonder JFK loved Cape Cod, it is a wonderul place and so varied. Weather has again been really kind to us and we spent yesterday driving across from Mashpee to Chatham. Highlight of the day was watching the fish being landed and the seals in the harbour. Then found a whole colony of seals and pups on a sandbank.
Hyannis is lovely and we saw all the JFK memorials and the Kennedy Compound. Chatham is quite like 'Broadway' and we had an interesting encounter with a Republican and her views on the Democrats! Politics is fascinating especially with the elections next week.
Today we've been whalewatching from Provincetown - saw lots of humpbacks and three minke whales. They played round the boat for ages. Also watched the gannets diving. Very exciting! Waiting on the boat was rather like being in 'Jaws' - total silence whilst we (180 people) waited to spot the first one. Three hour trip but sea was calm, probably one of the last trips this season.
Hope to go to Martha's Vineyard tomorrow.
All for now.
Love J and P xx
Wednesday -
Weather changed today and sea quite rough as well as fog at sea, so abandoned trip to MV. Had some quite heavy rain too. Had a good day on the south beaches and then up to Sandwich and the glass museum, watched a young woman glass blowing a fish! Health and Safety is very different here. P bought me a glass elephant to replace the ones that got broken 27 yrs ago. A lovely souvenir to have. Walked across the broadwalk on the marshes at Yarmouth and now it's home cooked stir fry in about 5 mins.
Onto Newport tomorrow and then NYC on Saturday - driven about 4500 miles.
Will hopeully send one more blog beore we sail on Monday xx
