W: Yesterday we visited Alcatraz which was well worth the trip. The weather had cleared so good views of the whole Bay area and Golden Gate bridge. Got the 7pm Air NZ flight and arrived in Auckland at 5am. Gained a day which no matter how much you understand the theory is still really wiered. Flight arrived early in San Francisco. Eventful taxi ride from the airport as the driver had forgotten to refuel so had to transfer to another cab - not sure if he managed to make it to the garage. Explored the shops in Union Sq then had a great meal in Historic John's Grill. Felt very authentic loads of photos of people on the wall who had eaten there... unfortunately didn't recognise any of them. Good sleep woke up at 5.15 and off to Starbucks then explorin...
