J & J's Travels
Yeah okay, we're absolutely rubbish at keeping this thing up to date. Our only excuse is that we did in fact age 40 years in the cameron highlands and like my long suffering grandfather have lost the capacity to grasp or understand even a basic digital telephone or answering machine nevermind current Information Technology advances. Off course the real reason is that we are having too good a time and can't be arsed sitting in front of a computer for 2 hours.
We're getting so bad at keeping in touch and checking our mail, that our own parents (well mine) started sending us worried emails. You know the type
"Haven't heard from you in a wee while. Are you okay?(concerned)"
"Look! (angry) your father and I are really starting to worry about you (concerned). Where are you both? (nosey)"
"Its your father here, hope your having a good time but your mums starting to worry me (exsasperated) because she's worrying about you."
"Its your mum here. Are you dead? (still don't get that one)"
Only joking parents, you know I love you.
Anyway, since we last updated we moved north from the cameron highlands to the Perhentian Islands. These islands are little tropical paradise's with huge wild prowling monitor lizards, where turtles come to lay their eggs and backpackers come to try and get their's fertilized. Lots of sun, sand, sea and sex going on here. Have to add another S to the above equation "Scuba". Yes people I now have a dive buddy as thanks to Andy and the people at Dive Tribe, Jen has finally taken the plunge and completed her diving course. I think she'd like me to tell you that her instructor said she was a natural and the best student that he ever had (Think he's been breathing compressed air at depth for too long, it can effect your judgement) Not taking anything away from her, she is very good. When we dive together it looks like the little mermaid has taken shrek for a swimming lesson. However, with a certain smugness I can say that I got a higher mark for the exam than her, Just! but I still get the Kudos.
Thats about all you can do on a desert island for 2 weeks.
From here we got another overnight train from khota bharu to Singapore. Much more pleasant experience than the last time we tried this mode of transportation. We read books (Well Jen did). I played on my newly purchased PSP and watched Lara Croft jiggle her minature booty for 4 hours, then the battery died and I fell asleep about 2 hours behind everyone else.
