J & J's Travels
Hey Guys,
After leaving Cambodia we promptly flew to Malaysia and stayed in Kuala Lumpar for a few days before departing for an interesting place called the "Cameron Highlands". We were intrigued, firstly because it is described as a lush, green, mountainous escape and secondly because both of the words remind us of home so we thought it only right that we pay the place a visit. ("Cameron" is the name of my first nephew and of course "Highlands" reminds us of lovely Scotland).
It is like a green paradise hideaway. We have managed to find this lovely peaceful hostel, called "Fathers Guest House", on the mountainside with 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains. It is like home away from home as James and I can lounge in the comfy livingroom area where they play DVDs all day long and serve tea and scones. They have large garden areas and we have found a lovely little spot to hang our hammock that we bought in Pai. We have been lying in it listening to the wildlife and admiring the scenery to our little hearts content. It actually has made us very nostalgic and a bit homesick because everything about the place is so Scottish. I have even needed to buy a little jacket as it is chilly.
We finally ventured out of our guesthouses grounds the other day and took a lovely little walk down to the nearby town. Which we both have nicknamed a "Malaysian Callender" as it is exactly the same as the little scottish town. James and I have also aged about 40years since arriving here as all we do is wander around the little souvenier shops, stop for scones and tea and as of today have visited our first "tea" plantation (first of many i suspect). I have even taken up sewing and have been not very successfully sewing flags onto James shorts. Very civilised we think. We are thinking about going to visit the strawberry farm and butterfly farm tomorrow. What is happening to us. Our next photos will display two very wrinkley jumper clad people with remnants of scones and strawberry jam around our mouths.
