I had an early start thus morning - 3am!! Thanks to the iPhone alarm, a Telstra wakeup call and Wally's reminder call I didn't get to sleep in and miss the Greyhound bus. Ferguson and Heidi were not impressed about Mum kicking them out in the cold. If dogs could talk I can only imagine what they would say.
Larraine was wonderful to wake up early and give me a lift to the bus depot. She drove my car back to her place where it will stay under cover until it is needed next.
Gee I am not missing school. Easter school holidays are far too short for teachers. I feel sad for all the teachers returning. At least the term is very short.
Online checkin looks a breeze until you get to the airport and realise that it only streamlines part of the process. I needed help to get the kiosk to read my barcode. Turns out I was trying to get it to read it to close. When I was shown to place it on the ledge the scanner worked a treat. Why not put a red arrow or something there so people know what to do!!! Then came the tricky part of attaching the baggage label. It looks so easy when Qantas staff do it but as you can see I managed to get a crease in mine.
This is the first time I have been through departures with my new hip. Wow what fun - NOT. I don't think the young girl believed me and the process took nearly 5 minutes. I was beginning to think I may have to be taken away however then she finally waved me through. I quickly picked up all my things and hightailed it out of there carrying my shoes. I am glad I was in Queensland and not at Rio airport. Something to remember if I travel overseas in the future.
