Cambridge / Duxford
Of course during our time in Huntingdon Janette had to visit Cambridge. So while she did the tour of the town I headed to Duxford 15 minutes from Cambridge. Duxford was a major air force base during World War 11 for the English and Americans. It is now part of the Imperial War Museum with lots of good aviation stuff. Since my last visit they have rebuilt and enlarged the No 1 hangar with lots of new things. Check it out on

As the students were out for Christmas, the colleges were closed, and so chapel and evening song had finished for the year. Rather a pity. Fitzwilliam Museum was still interesting and many of the quaintness of Cambridge had not changed. I found the shoe shop that I had visited 6 years ago and bought some boots. Could not find the coffee shop. A bar had taken over and on Friday night I organised for Keith and me to have cocktails then ate french at Coate (we had been here 6 years ago). The weather is getting colder, snow or something is on the way.
