Wales. St David's, on the south-west corner of Wales, is a small village but very important. Part of the pilgrim trail, London to St David's to Dublin and St Patrick, Ile of Man, Scotland, York and back south. St David's relics are encased in the Cathedral. I touched the crypt and made a wish. The cathedral slopes south (14 feet lower) and leans to the west, several flying buttresses have been put in place some 400 years ago to ensure the west wall kept upright....

Leaving Dublin ...soon...so soon..too soon. In a few days we leave Dublin and depart for Wales. It was time to get serious and do the tourist stuff. We visited the Guinness Storehouse (brewery) learning about the history and manufacture of Guinness and researched the area to ascertain which pub has the best Guinness. Whilst doing this I pondered on the question, "what is the plural of Guinness ?" "Is it Guinnei, it can't be Guinnessess or Guinness...

Portrush and The Giants Causeway. The BnB at Portrush had a view of the harbour, the sunset and the rescue boat bobbing away in the swell. Indeed a picturesque place. The evening was topped off with Nicole and Robin's choice of Restaurant were we dined again on sumptuous lamb, seafood and a very creative desert that defied all description except to say that it was truly a master piece in size and delight. Belfast. A cleaner and more cared for city than Dublin. We stayed in Arnie's BnB near Queens University, a cute place with interesting people and showers.Our first place to visit was the Transport Museum, Keith will talk about that, he knows what's what. Kilkenny We had a nourishing breakfast and relaxed night, it was a sunny morning cloud an drizzle came in by 12:30. We roamed around the churches, and Kilkenny has more than it's fair share of grand churches both catholic and protestant. First up St Canices Cathedral and Round Tower.
