01/03/08 Today we headed to El Calafate. Flew to Buenos Aires, updated my diary at the airport and flew on to El Calafate for the start of the Patagonia adventure. Day 1. Meet and greet. 9/2/08 Today we headed to Mendoza (8am), our starting point for Aconcagua. The bus journey from Santiago is amazing. You travel well over 3000m to cross the Andes. It is quite something to know your over 3000m and yet you are still looking up at giant mountains! Customs at Puente del Inca was an experience. We took over 3 hours to get through.
