hello everyone!
its taken me a while to get round to doing this blog thing but had a spare day today so decided to sort it and stay in touch with england! anyway....below is a brief update of what i;ve been upto while your all slaving away back home.
when i arrived in sydney i checked in at the hostel and within 5 mins of getting a schooner at the bar i had a tap on the shoulder and it was 3 other brummy medics! just can't escape...anyway spent the next few days looking round sydney doing the tourist stuff with them then went our seperate ways for placement!
i turned up at placement on monday 23rd april and low an behold 4 more brum medics! think most the year had the same idea of having a holiday! i had 3 weeks of placement in ICU/trauma, was great and learnt alot but was quit surprised at the standard of treatment etc seeing as the hospital icu is meant to be the best icu in the world! anyway got a chance to go out with the HIRT tem helicopter for a day doig trauma calls...helicopters are quality fun! i want one! during my time on placement i was stayign with sue and colin, a couple that work at the hospital and who offered to put me up! i landed on my feet...staying in a cul-de-sac simular to ramsey street with swimmingpool in back garden!
i finished placement yesterday and am in a hostel in sydney now, but leave on a surf camp heading up the coast for 4 days tomorrow, then start my PADI dive course next monday before flying to n.z. on the 26th!
will keep you all updated
