No. Still didn't sort my life out. Instead, I walked from Coogee Beach to Bondi yesterday along this stunning coastal path. Amazing scenery. We got to Bondi and were told 'it is not advisable to go swimming as there were massively strong rip-tides and s*** loads of jellyfish'... not advisable? That means we can do it, yeah? Yeah, we went in. We had to walk down a particular stretch of sandbank to avoid the rip-tides. The jellyfish, well, we had to spot them and move or jump over them depending on circumstance. We even had our own personal life guards haha. I'm not going to not swim at Bondi Beach mate. No harm done... You have to love the Aussies complete lack of Health and Safety. They were fine with us doing it. I got stung on my ankle but it was just a brush pass. Felt like a nettle sting. The real damage is done when they wrap around and you have to peel them off. No biggy mate. Got completely swept off my feet at one point but managed to avoid being swept out to sea by swimming towards the shore. Job done.
In the evening we went on the Party Bus. A bar crawl through Sydney. What an excellent idea. A bunch of pissed people on a bus. I can't find the words. Good fun though. We started off in Bondi, then went to the Coogee Hotel where they had a beer garden overlooking the beach. It was amazing. We came back to Central then went to King's Cross. An experience in itself. The best way to describe it is a cross between Leicester Square and Amsterdam. On the way there were some Aussie blokes doing pull-ups on the rails of the bus. It probably isn't the best idea I've ever had, considering I was on a moving bus, but I proceeded to grab both railings and do a backwards somersault off the roof. I landed it and got a round of applause but in hindsight, yeah, probably shouldn't have done it. It was fun though. No harm done. That seems to be the motto out here by the way.
Today I went to finally sort my life out. Negotiated a nice 25% off the quote I was given to do the East Coast. I leave for Byron Bay tomorrow on an overnight bus. The sun was shining and all was well. That is until a tropical storm hit Sydney and let me tell you, when it rains here, it rains. Still warm though, as was the rain. Not to sound like a hippie too but it was an experience walking through Sydney, bare-footed, in the rain. I will post a full itinerary when I have have it but let me tell you, it includes Fraser Island for Christmas Day and The Whitsundays, on a boat, for New Years.
