Hello!
Blogging feels somewhat like a foreign concept to us these days - it feels like so long since we last did one! This is just a quickie to let you all know that we still love it out here. We've been in Melbourne for THREE MONTHS now. It certainly doesn't feel as if it's been that long, and yet it feels like home at the same time. We're both still working away, and have been very lucky with our jobs. James is working at Umago, a nice café on Brunswick Street (I think it' s got a website if you want to have a peek), and I'm working as a Receptionist at PPB, an accountancy firm in the CBD (Central Business District, ie. the city centre). I've also done a few shifts at an Irish bar called The Drunken Poet, just as and when, so we're ticking along nicely. I'll be finishing up at PPB at the end of September, so will hope to get another couple of weeks somewhere before we leave Melbourne around the middle of October. We have a very happy life here. We are living in a lovely house, with two great housemates. We fill our time with going to the cinema, going to a local pub quiz with Eoghan and Fiona (our local being an Irish bar - of course!), exploring new parts of the city, and eating beautiful food!More recently, we've also past our time trying to plan the rest of our travels. We rarely make much progress on this front, but I'm sure it's all whizzing around somewhere in our minds, just waiting to become the best plan ever! All the flights are booked, so it's just the in-betweens that we need to sort. We will travel for a month through the rest of Oz, then spend a month in New Zealand, two weeks in Fiji, two months in America … and then HOME!We've been working hard to save our pennies, not only for the rest of our travels, but for our V I S I T O R S !Our good friend Amy will be here in just a few weeks' time for 10 days or so, and then Mum and Dad arrive a couple of weeks after for a similar amount of time. We can't wait to show off our little home, and discover even more of it with them (e.g. we haven't even done the Neighbours Tour yet, and in our 3 months, we haven't been outside of Melbourne!). Ashcherrelle and Harriet arrive into Melbourne in November, so we'll just catch them before we head to New Zealand. And then to finish the whole trip off, we're meeting the Moles in New York on James' birthday in February (and there may be a few from my side too, but we shall see).So there we are. We truly love Melbourne. It's a very nice city, with some very lovely and laid back people, and some brilliant things to see and do. We both get on well with our housemates, and workmates, and meet up with Eoghan and Fiona AT LEAST once a week. We may be meeting up today after James and Eoghan finish work to try to track down somewhere to have a Sunday roast dinner!!We will get blogging again I'm sure when Amy is here to tell you all what we've been getting up to.Well I'm going to head off now and read about bus tours in New Zealand, and put a wash on (exciting times!).All our love to you all, thank you again for keeping in touch and keeping us updated, it really makes us feel closer to home. Take care, keep safe and have fun xxxxxxxxx
