James and Ellie in Europe
Day 15:
This morning was our first real hangover of the trip. We went in to town earlyish to do a bit of shopping and search for Ellie's missing sunglasses. The market in town was amazing and we found some very cool jewellery for very cool prices :o)
However, we didn't find Ellie's sunglasses - more on them later.
We were travelling to Zilina in Slovakia today, mainly as a stopover because Bratislava is just too far away but also because the campsite is in the middle of a national park and was supposed to be very beautiful.
We got the train ok and were bemoaning the loss of Ellie's sunglasses, which, coupled with the earlier theft, made her think the whole world was against her! she then remembered that she had given them to Tracy to look after and most likely they were still sat in her handbag. After a brief text conversation with them this turned out to be right so hopefully they'll post them to us from Belfast when we get back.
We had two seperate passport controls on the train (one on each side of the border) so arrived in Zilina as the sun was starting to go downwards.... we then had to wait a further hour for the bus to take us out to the campsite. We were distracted by the cutest rabbit ever at the bus stop so the time flew a little bit faster.
By the time we got there it really was getting a little bit murky and Ellie went off to cook a late supper while James put the tent up. Alas for James the ground although looking like soil was much more akin to concrete!!! The pegs weren't having any of it and in the end James improvised by using big rocks/stones on the guy ropes to hold the whole thing up. There didn't seem to be any danger of rain so it seemed safe. Ellie's supper was amazing and we settled down to a well earned sleep having seen shooting stars pass us overhead.
