James and Ellie in Europe
Day 11:
We got the train in the morning and arrived in Prague around 11:30. We found somewhere to store our bags, and having double checked the time of our night train to Warsaw we headed off around the city to explore.
The weather was unbearably hot, far from ideal to explore a city on foot in a limited time but we got on with it like the hardened travellers we were becoming hehe....
We saw the beautiful Astronomical Clock (as seen in one of the pics on this journal), the old churches and then stopped off for liquid refreshments!!
We then headed to the Charles Bridge but unfortunately a lot of the local craftspeople had already packed up (it was around 16:3ö at this point) but we still got some cool stuff :o)
We then traipsed up the hill to see the castle and to view the city from up on high and it is quite simply spectacularly beautiful. Lots of photos were taken and lots of smiles were exchanged (arrrr)
We then found a great restaurant, had Kir Royals, and the local beer (Staropramen is gorgeous!!!) - the food was great and although shattered we had had a good day.
We got to the station, found an empty compartment, locked the door and settled down to try and sleep a little better then our previous overnight train!!!!
