May 3rd and it was time for us to continue with our travels. We had been back in England from the beginning of March to be with Em's family as her grandfather, Abbo, became extremely ill with Leukemia and very sadly passed away at the end of March. We know he will be watching over us and keeping us safe on our travels now.
We are very lucky that we can continue where we left off, and on Sunday we headed to LA after some very sad goodbyes. It was very strange to be leaving again, but we were looking forward to flying with Air New Zealand again as we had a very good flight back with them!
As we were waiting to board the plane, we were sat opposite Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum, but we didn't have enough guts to ask them for their autographs or a piccie! They got onto 1st class of course! We were picked up from LAX by Em's Auntie and Uncle who took us back to their beautiful home in Anahiem Hills, where we stayed for the 4 days. We spent our 1st day with Em's cousins driving around Beverley Hills and Hollywood, oh how the other half live!! It made us want to earn more pennies in Australia!! Our second day was spent recovering from the night before, as Em's cousin, Jonathan and his friends taught us 'beer pong'. It's a game which involves shotting a lot of beer constantly pretty much all evening, and James kept the Brits name up by wiping the floor with the lot of them! On Wednesday Em's Auntie dropped us off at Laguna Beach and we walked all the way up to Newport Beach. That's 5 hours of constant walking and we were in pain that evening! But it was worth seeing the beautiful houses and beaches, and a few dolphins and sea lions! We had lunch on Newport pier and watched the dolphins and fishermen until the sun went down. It doesn't get much better than that! Our last day is today and we've just been chilling in the pool and resting our feet after yesterdays marathon! We're not looking forward to the 11 hour flight to Fiji, although we're sure it'll be worth it! We're very grateful to Em's family for having us and showing us around, and hope we can return the favour in England one day!
