So it's our last night in Florence, it has been a very long 4 nights here, possibly too many but I have needed the rest anyway. We managed to get our last 2 nights at a hotel closer to our pick up point. Unfortunately we lost quite a bit of sleep last night due to an extremely uncomfortable bed and quite a few outbursts on the street below us so we are hoping tonight won't be as bad and that our bed at Cinque Terre will be more comfortable. We definitely learnt from our mistake and have booked the rest of the accommodation for the rest of our trip.
As promised here are the sites we visited on our tours in Rome. But there is a catch.... If you read this and find yourself saying, 'why didn't they visit this whilst they were there'? I don't want to know what we missed!
All over walking tour - Colosseum, Mouth of Truth, Jewish Ghetto, site of Julius Caesars assassination, Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, Mussolini's balcony and Roman Forum.
Night Walking tour - Piazza Republicca, Piazza Barberini, Triton fountain, Spanish steps, Trevi fountain and Piazza Novona.
Florence has been very laid back. Other than the tour on the first night we haven't done anything structured. We have just gotten ourselves lost in the streets, eaten lots of pizza, pasta and gelati, taken lots of photos and seen lots of churches. We ran into our guide from Romeing Tours in Florence today as he was heading to the Bruce Springstein concert that is here tonight. He said there is only 3 things to do in Florence and 2 of them are churches.... Soooo true!
Looking forward to the short trip to Cinque Terre tomorrow with a photostop in Pisa. Then the next day we will be doing the walk between the five towns.
Fingers crossed we will have good wifi in Cinque Terre and I'll be able to write you another blog.
Catcha then xxx
