JAK: As per usual we left everything until the last min and couldn't book a boat off Koh Phangan yesterday so with all ferries fully booked we decided to try our luck at the port first thing in hope that a few people had a few to many drinks last night to make the 7:30am crossing, with in minutes of departure we were in luck Mr Charlie and party were on route to Ko Tao. Arriving on the island we were shuttled to Bans diving resort where we'd booked to do our PADI course. Walking down to reception it's looks beautiful, two white motel style buildings surround a jungle style garden with mini foot bridges over the waterfall and a stream which leads down to the beach front restaurant. After being given a room key we were led by this thai boy right out of the resort down the road to some shabby bungalows, for about twenty minutes he couldn't find the room number and when he finally did we found someone was already staying there. So back to reception hot, sweaty and getting pissed off they gave us another key, hopefully better than the shabby bungalows but not expecting to much as the accommodation is included with the course price. Again out the resort up the road and in to the biggest squalor you've ever seen! The smell was nasty like a V.Fest portaloo yet we didn't even have a toilet that was at the end of the hall and served at least thirty rooms, minging! No shower for me tonight and we can't up grade until at least tomorrow. Today we start our theory so into the class room we go, no rest for the wicked !
