CRICKET UPDATE!!!
Right i am terribly sorry for all of my fan club who have been desperate to hear about my cricket out here! I have been very slack updating my blog i know but i have been so busy it is unreal!
I have not played a game for Fairfield Liverpool C.C yet in grade cricket, only friendlies which is very frustrating. (There are more politics than in the house of bloody commons in that club i tell the!)
So i have been regularly playing for Southern Districts C.C which is a club who play in the 'shires' divisions. I have played in the 1st XI since i started playing for them which is as good a standard as 'grade' 2 / 3... so i keep asking the question 'why am i not being selected for F.L.C.C in grade?' ... the answer is politics. haha.
I was frustrated about this to start with but now i dont really care, i am still playing a very good standard of cricket (higher than what i play back in Cornwall) and its with a great bunch of guys as well who have been very welcoming to me.
I am yet to hit a score above the 20s which is annoying but im feeling very comfortable when batting so its when not if i think. Plus in 3 innings ive seen over 14 wickets fall at the other end whilst batting so havn't been able to build a partnership with one player yet.
I am bowling very well at the moment and the xmas 3 week break came at the wrong time for me as in my last match i took 1 wicket for 17 runs from 4 overs in the Twenty20 game. I also got a runout when a batsman hit the ball back to me when i was bowling and i took the non striker's wicket.
The T20 match was awesome!!! A team mates friend DJ's so he brought a sound system to the match... when i bowled, got the runout, took a wicket, and when i smashed a 6 to get off the mark the Barmy Army chant could be heard in probably the surrounding 5 miles! :D Unfortunately we lost the T20 but many people had not played that type of match before as its the first time an official T20 match was included in the fixture list. For some reason Cricket New South Wales have been slow to introduce it which made me a T20 specialist!
Stat updates after the first game in the new year.
Peace for now!
