The weather here in Santiago today is absolutely gorgeous! Especially for winter -- It´s a beautiful near 70 degrees outside!
I left my house in a happy, bouncy mood and pedaled my bike a few blocks away to my "clase de español". After having a what I like to call a "successful class" (meaning I understood most of what was going on and promised myself I would remember how to say the phrase "she/he told me" - which always erases itself from my brain the minute I leave class), I decided it was a day fit for a splurge on some foods I´ve been missing. So, I went to Jumbo (a local supermarket chain) across the street from my class to buy tortilla chips and pickles and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups... Yes, I am American. :)
Unfortunately, apparently Chile does not believe in packaging big dill pickles in jars like they do in the good ol´USA (only little boring ones could be found). Bummer... So I decided I would just eat away my sorrows with some spicy salsa and chips. OH Wait -- Chile doesn´t believe in REAL spicy salsa either.
Boo.
My last hope was once again to try to locate the Reeses PBCs that have been alluding me this entire time. I keep hearing that they are available at shops around town... but I am beginning to fear that my blonde hair and light eyes strike fear into the shop owners when I stride in with confidence that this time, finally, I will find them. I swear they are conspiring against me by they hiding all my favorite candy. Someday, Reeses, someday... you will be mine!
