Parañaque, Philippines
I've been here for around 3 weeks and what an adventure it's been already! So lets start from the beginning and I'll try to remember things in order :) ...
I wont bore you with the details of my fight but basically, it didn't go to plan! The snow has a lot to answer for...
So I got off the plane at about half 7 night time Philippine time. I hadn't slept at all on the plane, which is rather odd because I usually do! There was a big cuffufle with my visa as unbeknown to me, I needed one. I tried to explain my situation to the immigration people saying that I used to live here and I didn't need one, but the rules have changed! I really couldn't be bothered with it all and just wanted to see my family and rest. I finally sorted everything and it only got fully completed yesterday! At least I know that they're not going to shoot me on a plane and send me back home ^_^
After I got picked up by my auntie, cousin and his family; I went to my 'new home' and had a great sleep of goodness knows how many hours. It was so great to see them all again and I didn't feel homesick in the slightest! So Saturday was my first full day and there was no time to lose. What did I do with my Saturday? Well I was hoping to rest and get used to the time difference as obviously I was jet-lagged, but instead I went to the Araneta Collusium! For those reading who aren't Filipino's, you may know this venue as the place where 'Thriller in Manila' took place between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Who did I watch? Dionne Warwick! She's knocking on a bit but her voice is still fantastic! She did the songs that everyone knows like Say a Little Prayer and then she did a part that I enjoyed the most- a Bossa Nova tribute. I didn't know Dionne does great Bossa tracks! Oh actually, I tell a lie because my favourite part was when she did a duet with her son. Gosh! He's an amazing singer but he's not famous because he doesn't wanna do it professionally as he's a policeman.
