Hello all!
After a late, and lets say slightly alcohol fuelled night the night before Phil, i and all our other fellow trekkers had a nice lay in yesterday morning, getting up at about 10.30/11.00. I went down to reception to check in again before knocking for dave who was moving in to our room for the night as Emma (who he was sharing a room with)left yestersay afternoon for southern Thailand. We leisurely showered and changed before deciding we should probably do something with the rest of our morning before meeting everyone else for lunch at 1.00.
All three of us needed to go to the internet cafe so we headed down the road to the nearest one. They turned out to be the slowest computers on earth and were getting none of us anywhere so we payed and left, bumping into Hannah on our way out. She was heading for the post office and as Phil and i also needed to go we all went together before popping into a realy nice cafe for some frappes.
At this point Phil and Dave really wanted to go and find another internet cafe so whilst they went to find one Hannah and i stayed back and attempted to catch up on five days worth of diary entries which was a complete waste of time as we just contiued to talk. We decided to head over the road to the little market selling souvenirs and then went to meet everyone at Johnny Walkers for lunch.
We had lunch with everyone excluding emma who was on a cooking course for the day and then all went our seperate ways before dinner and the night market later that evening. Phil went back the the internet cafe to finish of everything he was doing before lunch whilst i went back to the hotel to pay for the annoyance of getting a bus back to Bangkok today so we can pre-order a ticket out of the country when we return to the south.
Anyway, once that was done i also went to the internet cafe before meeting Phil, Hannah, Sophie, Dave and Emma for mine and Phils first Thai full body massage. I have to say it was a different experience for everybody as it was apparent some of the ladys were alot better than the others, and while mine was the best massage i have ever had (although she did dislocate my toe) dave bairly felt his. Phil was slightly annoyed as he was left lying for fifteen minutes after everyone elses had started before his own started and then his lady finished at exactly the same time as everyone else, therfore bairly massaging his neck or head, although he did get the oppurtunity to look very cool in his traditional and massive thai trousers and shirt.
We then headed back to the hotel, meeting ray and Ails on the way, so that Emma could repack her bag before leaving, and the rest of us could get some dinner. At the same time dave was running back and forth from another internet cafe trying to upload and burn our trekking photos so that we could all have a dvd of them. We had a nice meal, said our goodbyes to Emma and headed for the night bazaar market.
Once at the night bazaar the group split up as Ails and Ray had already been to it, Dave wasnt really interested in looking at the stalls and i think Phil was removing temptation to spend more money after his spending the night before. So whilst they went off to find a bar, me, hannah and Sophie had a wander round the market spending far to much money. Sophie went back to the hotel as her foot which she had hurt the day before was really hurting and Hannah and i slowly finished looking before going back to find the others playing killer (a pool game where you have three lives; you pot a ball you keep the lives, you dont you loose a life) in the Chiang mai Salloon against all the bar staff, and unfortunatley not winning. After a couple more games of killer where i did suprisingly better than i thought i would we decided to head back about 1.00 for another very nice sleep.
