After spending alooooong time writing the blogs, for me and her diary for Jade we had a quick game of Pool, and yes I did win, but ummm not as easily as had been hoped after she gave one of the old, oooh I'm terrible at this, this will be so easy for you, bla bla bla, all rubbish lies!!!
Anyway, this morning after once again sleeping through our alarms, which I have to say I wasn't too upset about we went down stairs and got some breakfast, in the restaurant, once again mentioning how much we both like it at this guest house, and I'm once again not going to properly be able to expain why, it's the set up that you need to see a photo of, and the chilled atmosphere. After breakfast we went across the road and rented some bikes, 30Baht, not too shabby, we were offered them for 150 yesterday!!!! Then we set off on our way to see the rest of the temples and the like that we hadn't seen the day before. Theres a 'Historical Park' here, which basically translates in to an area that has got a fair few temples in the same vacinity. So we headed for that area. It was only a short ride, and even though it was around 11ish the sun wasn't too hot. We saw the larged seated Buddha in Thailand, which is Bronze, but was then paid to be covered in Gold Leaf by the Queen, or Crown Princess, I get confused here, they seem to celebrated their Princes' as much as the King!!! OOOhhh how Charles would love a situation like that!!!
We sat at the top of one of the Chedis (part of a temple) for a little while and then managed to barter our way in to the Buddha trade, well that sounds as if we're now trading Buddhas, which is true, I mean that wasn't my goal when coming on ths trip, and I don't think it was Jades, what I actully mean is I bought a Buddha, and Jade bought a Elephant, we were both fairly impressed with our bartering developments though. I got my Buddha from 900B, down to 200, while Jade got her Elephant down from 650B to 140. I must reiterate that this is not a really life Buddha or Elephant just wood replicas, because other wise I would be extatic with that prize, I probably would have even paid the whole 900, think of the potential!!!!
Anyway, sorry about that tangent, I also bought a MODEL elephant for 100B off of the back of Jades purchase, from another guy, which meant I spent another 40 less than he on it!! Ohh we also bought hats, the day of the big spenders apparently!!!
After our extraveganses, we headed on to ome more temples, findin out on the way that the museum, housing, in the words of a BBC programme one of the '80 treasures of the world' was shut, how frustrating, whoe shuts a museum on a monday and a tuesday, frustrating. The 'treasure' I'm referring to is a small gold and jewel MODEL elephant, that my parents will remember from the TV programme I'm referring to.
Anyway, after finding( more by follwing tourist coachs than much of our own work) another huge recling Buddha, made from stone, and draped in Safron gowns, and then lightin candles and insence (thats insence, not the other thing your thinking of!!! Vicci!!! ha) and putting gold leaf on its arm, we headed back towards our guest house. Since we've got back we've had lunch and updated, our emails and the blog! and generally chilled, we've done really, all that this town has to offer, but we are quite happy to chill its just so chilled out here.(alot of chilled's in a sentence right there, apologises to those dislikers of the word!!!)
I'm going to update my diary now, which is a loooong job, Jades probably going to fanny bout on the computers for a bit longer and then, we'll probably chill some more!!!
We'r off to Lopburi in the morning, a 1 and a bit hour train journey, so a new twn on here tomorrow.
Evening all x
