Up mid morningish, to find out that the guy who had rented us his fairly dodgy bikes the day before 'for two days' was renting them to a couple of Aussie instead!!! we hadn't paid for them so it wasn't the sorst news ever. We rented a new set, and when they arrived, it turned out they were of a much higher quality!!!
We decided we would try and see some of the waterfalls around town. But when talking to the owner of the guest house, we were informed that the majority weren't worth going to see at this time of year, because they wouldn't have any water, so our dreams of swinging on vines in to the bottom pools was dashed. Instead she suggested one that was a couple of km's outside of town, and if we were feeling really adventurous one that was a two hour drive away. When first mentioned, I considered it, but as the day went on the idea lost its appeal, Mike (our American counterpart)however was bang up for it.
We drove out to the closer waterfall, which was nice, and looked beautiful but could only entertain ones attention for so long. Linnea, Mike and myself attempted climbing about 5 metres up it to a jumping point the local kids were using. Linnea and Mike managed this with out incident, I however, being probably the worst rock climber I know, slipped when having to cross a tree log, and ended up having to use the log as a natural slide!!! I was very lucky to end up with no injuries other than my pride!!!
When we were ready to leave we agreed that Mike and I would drive the girls back to lake we had been at the day before, and that I would decide on the way whether I would follow him on an epic journey to a waterfall. Linnea was on my bike Jade on Mike's. As we were leaving the car park my decesion was made for me as Mike sped his bike up a tree root flipping it on to its side, a piece of sheer stupidity that has left Jade physically scared if only slighty on the leg, and Linnea mentally, along with other horror stories of crashs. Jade sensibly got back on the bike quickly to get the trip out of the way before she lost her bottle. At the Lake Mike dropped off Jade with Linne and myself and headed off on his own. We spent the day much like the day before swimming and sun bathing, except I was hit on by any Cambodian men this time.
At the end of the day I took it in turns to drive the girls back to the guest house about a 15-20 minute drive.
That night we once again set up in the same bar as the night before and played drinking games that the girls would this time get well involved in.
