After a nice trip on the overnight train - interesting to say the least - we arrived in chiang mai early on the 26th. We then headed off for an hours ride on the elephants which was an experience. Our elephant was very stubborn - if didn't keep giving it banana's it wasn't very happy We then had a lazy afternoon - Jacqui had a thai massage for 2 hours!!!! Euge went off exploring the temples just outside Chiang Mai. That night we headed off with the group to the NIght Bazaar for a great dinner. The food has been so good on this trip.
On the 27th we spent most of the day at a thai cookery school which was great. We made 5 dishes - a coconut and prawn soup, a glass noodle salad with chicken, red curry - which included making the paste from scratch!!!, pork balls and sticky rice with mango. We all had a great time - but boy were we full after eating all that food. At 4pm we headed off to Wat Doi temple which is up on the hillside and you get great views of the city below.
