On the 25th we headed off on the short trip to Queenstown. On the way down we stopped off at the originally bungy jump site and watched a few mad people dive off the bridge and get dunked in the icey cold water!!!!! Brrrrrrr. Once we got to Queenstown we wandered around the shops for a while looking at more warm clothes We found a lovely hotel up on the ridge overlooking the lake at Queenstown and the price was a steal so we were very happy. That night we headed to a place called Chop Chop - a nice noodle bar where we both ate soup and noodles. It was very cold today - felt like -3!!!!!
On the 26th we decided to go and do the Shotover river jet - it basically a 30 minutes ride up and down the shotover river in a jet powered boat and the drive does lots of 360 spins!!!!! It was great fun we really enjoyed it but Neen did get a bit wet!!! The we headed back into town and Neen decided to walk up the hill to get to the Gondala and took the nice easy option the Cable Car up Its a great viwe from the top over Queenstown and the mountains and lake. Neen then decided to do a tandum paraglide from the top. he really enjoyed it the photo's are already to be viewed. It is winterfest here at the moment a little festival they have so there was fireworks and lots of live music. We had a nice fish platter for dinner - altougha little cold the seafood was tasty!
On the 27th we headed off on a drive to Glenorchy - an area where some of Lord of the Rings was filmed. it is right at the top of the lake and the drive over was beautiful. Again lake and snow capped mountains but you don't get bored of the views as they are spectacular! We had a nice little lunch in Glenorchy and headed back to burn photo's onto CD and generally internet away the afternoon
