Flew over to Siem Reap on the 2nd Jan 2014. It was a tiny little plane, have not been on one of them for a long time! The Siem Reap INTERNATIONAL airport is tiny, the immigration area spill over into the tarmac!! Fortunately we have already applied for a e-visa, so jump the long............ queue!! Didn't really make much difference as the baggage took ages, it was such a tiny carousel that all the bags were falling of it and jammed a couple of times. When we eventually manage to retrieve our luggage, there weren't anyone at custom check point, seems they were all pulled off to go help the visa application!
Watch a cultural show the same evening but most of us were rather tired and some fell asleep!! But woke up in time to take a walk along pub street, where there is lots of drinking and massage places, loud music and a night market
Today we went to the Angkor Wat! It is indeed a amazing sight! We have a guide who can tell us fascinating stories and brought us up to speed with the Cambodian history. Visited the more popular temples, including the tomb raider one, with huge roots curling round the buildings!! Awesome!! Ended the day watching the sun set!! Too many people!! So far, don't like the food, they put sugar in everything!!
