Once again there are no photos as of yet as I have inadvertently locked my camera in my room, along with all my stuff. Will ask reception to let me in, but not just yet.
There is a huge city block just down the road from us called Temple Bar which is all cobbled and devoid of cars and there are nothing but bars and restaurants and buskers on every corner and traditional music in every bar. It's fantastic. The sun doesn't go down until 11pm and everyone stays out late, drinks Guiness and listens to music. Admittedly I am not sure what percentage of the listeners are actually Dubliners, there do seem to be an incredible amount of tourists around, but at least I can get the illusion of authenticity.
First day in Dublin got hugely massively lost but in the process discovered that Dublin has a medieval/viking precinct with old buildings dating back to the 1200s which they now use for conferences of neuro-surgeons - not joking, I questioned a lady on this matter and she confirmed it to be true. I suppose you can't just let buildings that size just lie around doing nothing.
Also committed a hostel faux par this morning when I sat opposite a girl it turned out I had talked to at length the day before and didn't recognise her, through the entire breakfast. Fortunately she is leaving today! The only bad thing that can be said for Dublin is that its parks seem to be lacking in squirrels (which England had in abundance).
The building in the photo, incidentally, is exactly opposite where we are staying, but the sky isn't as blue as in this photo, in fact not at all! I MISS THE SUN!
