Today we went in to Adelaide in the afternoon. It was very rainy; they haven't had this much rain in one day in 45 years! We were worried the Fringe Parade would be cancelled but luckily the skies cleared and it was a beautiful night sitting along King William Street to watch the parade in Downtown Adelaide.
There were many 'interesting' floats and people around all night and the pre-parade show was probably the biggest hit with Layla as she got to run through the streets with other kids playing with bubbles, balls, and balloons and having a great time. The parade lasted about 1.5 hours and was followed by an amazing fireworks show!
After that we walked down Rundle Mall to the Garden of Unearthly Delights (the carnival) which was full of rides, games, freaks and drinks for the adults. We didn't catch the bus back to Chance's house until 12:00 and after hitting the Macca's drive-thru we went back to Chance's to head to bed exhausted. A great day with the family, Chance, and our new mate, Jo! It was definitely a new and exciting way to celebrate Valentine's Day.
