Hello everyone! Sorry i havn't put a blog on lately my ipad and the internet here seem to of fallen out and ive been a bit lazy from working :)
We have every Thurs and Fri off so we have had four days off so far. In these four days we have covered a lot of ground, seeing the local wonders. Such as Maligne Lake and a couple of smaller lakes. They are all so blue and still here. If they were not freezing cold we might be tempted to go for a dip.
We have also signed up to go rafting on the 27th, Im not sure how rough the course will be but we both hope it wont be too bad.
Nothing really exciting or funny has happened really because we are working so much and that gets slightly boring sometimes. One really good thing about being here is the wildlife! We saw a bear just outside our cabin, he was huge and black with a brown nose. We have also seen numerous elk and goats, they are holding up the traffic usually on a daily basis. Instead of speed humps here this is a much cheaper solution. We also spotted a beaver on the way back from the hot springs on the side of the road, i turned the car around (james bond style) i wasnt going to let laura miss out on seeing sherman. We saw him scuttly into the wilderness.
I also saw a coyote on the way to jasper yesturday whilst we were in the car. It looked cool but im glad i saw it whilst on the move!
On thursday whilst in Jasper i drove down the wrong side of the road! woops! Dont gasp and spill your coffee just yet there wasn't any cars and i quickly and calmly turned it around. The car park exit was decieving as it was like a slip road facing the wrong way. Laura thought the same so we both had a moment of Home thinking.
We are settling in nicely but still we long to be travelling to the next place wherever that may be. We even looked at flghts to sydney last night as a possibility to visit in september rather than in april. Getting a return to Toronto. As it would work out cheaper than flying to sydney then on to the uk.
One person here is annoying the other staff and they are on there final warning for going so slow and not contributing. Also $20 tip went missing from the office so everyone think we know who it is...That pesky bear! We also have the pleasure of welcoming a mouse into our room but he has met his match. I put an electric shock trapdown. for the mouse (not the bear, or the theif, we aren't that desperate for food).
We got really nice ice cream from scoops and loops yesturday. I asked the lady, "can i have mint choc chip, two scoops in a reese's cone" usually they say "anything else" here but she obviously thought i need to keep an eye on my suger intake. Sort of like a barman dosn't serve a drink to the person already drunk. So as she was walking to the cashier i embarrassingly said "and dip it in chocolate please". Im an addict what can i say, the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.
Sorry to tell you this but the weather has also been very hot here. Over 20 degrees most days and nearing 30 some. So it was worth coming out here just to have a decent summer of sun.
Must dash now as its past my bedtime and this weekend the park has been full so we have worked overtime and been very busy. Miss you all!
