So, I'm up early again. Central Europe is very hot by night, even with the air conditioning I was struggling to sleep. To be honest, I wasn't helped by James's sleep talking or the girl next to me snoring. Yes thats right I'm complaining about someones snoring. So I've left the room and am now abusing the computer in the lobby, in my pants. Also please forgive me for any awful typos, Austrian keyboards are mental.
So yes as I just mentioned we are in Austria. Vienna in fact. Which turns out to be essentially as far east as you can go in Austria. We left Munich on the 11,30 train yesterday morning having had to tear James from his new found wife's arms. They said their sad and tearful farewells before agreeing to try and meet up again in Prague. And then we were gone. The train from Munich to Vienna was packed when we got on so we had to sit apart, I shared with a spanish family, whilst Tom sat a few rows down from me and James stank out the far end of the carriage. This was all after an episode which summed up the general attitude of German people in Germany. Basically they all seem to be incredibly rude. I don't mean to offend anyone and I know that us British are hardly the most pleasant of people but when we were looking for seats on the packed train this one German bloke had a free seat next to him so I asked if I could sit next to him and got no reply. So I thought maybe he doesnt speak english so I pointed at the chair, still blanked me. I then felt the need for drastic action. Thats right.. I waved my hand in his face. AND HE STILL BLANKED ME. Rude. And whilst were on the note of speaking about rudeness... In Amsterdam the guy behind the counter at Burger King, 'Zaheer' was probably the most depressed man I have ever seen. It was like being served food by someone 3 minutes before they knew they were going to be executed. YES OK THIS HAPPENED OVER A WEEK AGO AND I JUST CANNOT LET IT GO.
Back to Vienna - Upon arrival, Vienna was not what I was expecting. It seemed a bit dreary... worse in fact, the train station was in the arse end of knowhere. A 15 minute walk to our hostel through an area which looked more like downtown Kosovo in the early 90s had me on a bit of a downer. However upon our trip to the centre last night for food we found the nice bit which we are going to further explore later this moring before hopping on our 14:30 train to Prague. The original plan for the day was to go the zoo, but we felt we dont really have time for that and so we are skipping it as we know when we arrive back in Bratislava at the end of our trip we can hop on a train back to Vienna just for the day, so we are going to go to the zoo then.
I really need the toilet now so I must say ta ta, and we shall speak soon.
Love Jack xx
Ps - James spoke to no females in Vienna but his sleep talking went something like this.. 'I LOVE THE CANDIAN; I WANT TO BE WITH FOREVER'
