Afternoon exploring Siena. We invited another Australian we have met at the language school - Alex . She is just a little older than Kirsten and is a Physiotherapist. She was good company as we explored the city. We bought a pass to the cathedral and crypt. It was well worth the money. We went into sensory overload with the amount of art and sophisticated architecture. In the crypt art by Cavaggio was on display. After 3 hours exploring we climbed to the top of the arch to get sights of the city. We enjoyed walking around Piazza Il Campo where last week the Il Palio was run . The contrade - the Goose, won last week. By 7pm we decided to leave to head back to Montepulciano. We had very tired feet after walking over 7km and 40 flights of stairs!
