Managed to sleep until 9 today, I'm slowly getting better at this lazy business.
We had nothing planned for today, just swimming and I had planned to go for a run or do some fitness of any kind. I think I have lost a stone already! Muscle dies quickly in Africa!
I headed out quietly as I could and all morning drank water and read my book whilst in a very comfortable hammock.
I decided to swim to a floating platform which looked deceptively close, in fact it must have been over 300m away. To my shock Vale started following. About half way I took a second to look back at Tom and see his breast stroke had diminished to a sort of sideways doggy paddle, I was breathing heavily and realised how seriously unfit I had become. Once I neared the platform the swell ha picked up and Toms head kept disappearing between the waves. I did think I would have to jump in and help him out at one stage, but he did make it bless him. After I had dive off a few times and surfed the platform up and down the ever growing swell I was getting bored. Sometimes I wish I could lay in the sun like tom spread out like a star fish, but unless I'm doing something or sleeping I can't!! So I swam back and did keep an eye out for Tom who made a straight line for shore instead of the diagonal line he had swam before.
That was my exercise done for the day!
We waited 1 and half hours for an omelette, I can never work out how it takes them so long, since we were the only two in the small hut along the beach...
We organised a trio for tomorrow, then went to a pub! First pub I have seen in Africa, and more of a joke pub than actual one. Called hick-ups pub. Quite cheap and tidy so was ok
